Endless Cables

Some time ago I was at AC Moore and found some bags of factory rejects or whatever you call those bags of unlabeled yarn that are sold cheaply. I found this chunky periwinkle yarn that according to the people working there were Lion Brand. It looks a lot like WoolEase Thick & Quick, but as far as I know they don’t have it in that color. I’m very intrigued. Anyway, I fell in love with the color and promptly came up with this pattern.

It uses Annie Modesitt’s i-cord edging, which is my favorite edging ever. It’s so neat and perfect. She has given me permission to publish how to do it, so don’t be alarmed. Just enjoy it!

This pattern was, by the way, inspired by PieKnits’ Ropes and Ladders Scarf. I call it endless because it reminds me of a Moebus strip.

Material
- Honestly I have no freaking idea. I did not get any labels, so I don’t know how much yarn I used, but considering that this is a relatively thin scarf knitted with chunky yarn I would say that 200 yards will give you an average length scarf, 300 and you have a monster!
- needles, 6 mm/US#10

Gauge
3,5 sts and 4,5 rows per inch or 14 sts and 18 rows per four inches/decimetre.

Directions
Cast on 21 sts. Work chart until you never want to see it again. Hopefully you then have enough scarf to wrap around your neck a couple of times. Add fringe if you want. I did. You just can’t see it because I was so excited to be able to give it to my grandpa in person that I forgot to get a proper picture of the scarf.
