About me

When I have to describe myself in a few short words I usually say “Kaia-29-thinker-crafter-professional-procrastinator”. Which is true, but I thought that I should elaborate a bit now that I’m doing a major revamp of my webpage.

procraftjagI’m one of those people who have enough nick names to last them a lifetime. My friends call me Kaia, my family Kakan (which is Swedish for “Cookie”), English speakers make it Karen and Swedes Karin. Generally Kaia is what I feel the most comfortable with, so there you go!

When I’m not sewing I knit. Or write. Or read. Or weave. In short, I’m a creative person, and especially when I don’t feel well I need to do a lot of crafts and such. My blog here at Procraftination.se will be about all my crafts, not just cloth pads, but the writing and book reviewing is done over at my writing blog.

I have chronic depression and oodles of social anxiety, which takes a lot of my time. I’ve tried no less than five different antidepressants and struggled a lot to get the help I need. Right now I feel better than I have in years, but I still have a long way to go. This winter I finally got a diagnosis, so keep your fingers crossed that I will have more energy to put into my business as time goes by.

I’m a vegetarian (ten years now!), embarrassingly out of the loop politically but definitely to the left of the middle, and I have far too many opinions. I like to write with green ink, my favourite yarn is Knitpicks cotton-modal blend, I am addicted to Carmex chapstick and am a self-proclaimed hermit. My favourite tree in my parents backyard is the plum tree. The one that makes red plums.
